The Finger

Today my itchy bitchy finger itches like crazy from the bee bite.  Keeping from itching is hard to do.

I decided to put my garden gloves on and stay busy on this nice day.  Our tree man has done a great job on the huge projects.  Underneath the huge Oak and Maple trees right off of the patio porch is something else and very annoying to the eye . . . mine in particular.  Small twigs and whiley pieces of bark needed to be tended to.  My 6″ plastic rake was just the ticket to rake a nice sized pile with a whole bunch of spent acorns the squirrels had enjoyed.  I had picked up some nice acorns with the stems still attached to the top, less the actual acorn.  I have a project in mind for the studio.  Having what I needed,  the acorns burned well right along with some pine cones.

The area is black dirt so we got a nice fire going without fear of any harm.  The breeze had been from the southeast and it twirled to every direction but when the fire got going.  I did add larger in length branches to the burning ring for another burn after they have totally dried.

I did succeed in wearing myself out.  I use both hands to get the raking done while hooking my cane in the right hand pocket to drag it along.  It works so well as a third appendage when needed.

Dennis was doing well keeping up with the sit-down walker that has great brakes for him when turning around to sit.

If the temps continue being mild, we have a few other spots to tidy up.

With that I will take my leave.  ♥
