My Grandmother wanted to make a quilt for me in the early 1980′s. At the time she lived in a small mobile home that had been tricked out for her as she was in a wheel chair. The top photo is what has happened to the cotton quilt batting that she used. I am slicing open the back of the puffs – taking out the wad and replacing it with the batting of today that is very user friendly for laundry and most importantly for daily use. The original quilt was a king size and with the cotton batting it was very heavy. These photos represent the third twin size I have made out of the original. Daughter Carrie has one, I have one, and this one that I am working on will be labeled for Kersten and Kevin. Just a great remembrance of my grandmother Laura Wendlandt.
