Kevin – Some big flakes and some not so big but at 37 degrees it is having a hard time doing more than giving a white covering. Hats off to the Fairfax team keeping with all that is required to get to the end of the day when you can give each other a hug and relax. I can only hope that they are still getting a circus peanut after their run. Come on – just one for the effort. Tomorrow afternoon I am going to Perry Schroeder’s retirement coffee. This is the fourth person retiring this year – make room for the younger kids. Catch ya on the down side.

Kevin & Kersten – It’s time for me to hustle up some supper. My stomach has been growling for the last hour and I if I don’t put something decent in it I am bound to hit the junk food. The water has been pumped out of the fish pond so the rest of the ice should melt faster. While Dennis was messing around with the pond I got the patio door windows washed so when I get tired of sitting in the house this next week I can at least go out there and watch the birds.

Kevin – This is just really cool and I hope that this will help unlock more ease in your work for the sites.

Kersten – I bet there were smiles all around to have Grandma home again. It was great that you got to spend some time with your mom on your trip to Hutch. Your work schedule I am sure had been felt by her. Catch ya later.

I am up to my eyebrows in life as per what my son knows his old mom is capable of – if she just concentrates.

So much sun and so much snow and we can only wonder what the next weather system will bring which they are warning may have a few flakes. For me I am touching as much as I can within our home much like a Yorkshire mama pig that is making ready for – something. She would be making ready for piglets. Kevin tells me that Sophie is one that gathers all her toys when her hormones are racing. I on the other hand have a mind that is racing anticipating what I will need at close range making ready for a time when I have to be a very good patient after getting a brand new shoulder. It is official, I have my medical wrist band on that was issued yesterday upon giving a blood draw at Mankato. One day at a time and lots of patience.

I think we have had our quota. Two family funerals in 15 days and as we attended a funeral today we learned there was a second cousin that had passed away today of cancer. The old adage “In groups of three.” May that be true. There was a time when I thought all my parents were doing in their spare time was going to funerals and now I am in the position where they were. It is hard to believe that I am now part of the generation that is leading the charge in the families. Whatever contact I now have with my cousins it is on me to be a participant when events are scheduled and I have awareness of them. On my Father’s side there were twenty seven cousins – twenty three are remaining. On my Mother’s side of the family there were twenty six cousins. Today as we gathered at a funeral on my Father’s side of the family we should have been wearing name tags. We were the cousins that played tag in the night hours while the adults were visiting. We caught fire flies and rubbed them on our clothes to see how long the light would last. We have lost a sense of commonality over the years. It’s not impossible to reconnect but we need to do it other than attending funerals. It is a sign of the busy times and it is indeed sad.

Today is a day that normally I would be out on the patio filling up flower pots and then allowing them to rest in the shade before putting them out into the planter. There is not a nursery hoop anywhere that even has flower to choose from. This is the year where patience is golden and as much as I would like to get a few fingernails dirty I can only imagine the itch the farmers are experiencing. Those that had their corn seed already in their machine sheds are now recalculating the maturity dates as listed on tags sewn on the bags of seed and realizing that April 14 not one single field is ready for tilling up let alone putting a kernel in the ground. We just need to keep a lid on it and be thankful all the horrible storms have passed our portion of the state. Blessed be to God.
